
Diabetes is inefficiency of body to absorb and digest sugar. After eating, carbohydrates break down into glucose and peptides from which, glucose sugar is the body’s primary source of energy enters the bloodstream. In blood insulin is secreted by beta cells of the pancreas which interact on receptors of the cell surface to induce absorption of the glucose.
Diabetes is caused by malfunctioning of the pancreas beta cells (Type 1 diabetes, insulin dependent) by auto immunity or lowering sensitivity of the insulin sensors (Type 2 diabetes, insulin independent).All diabetic persons must keep some sweet with them as lowering of blood sugar by routine workout may suddenly fall the blood sugar level below 50 mg/dL which is sever ( A normal blood glucose level for adults, without diabetes, two hours after eating, is 90 to 110 mg/dL) . A reading of more than 200 mg/dL (11.1 mmol/L) after two hours indicates diabetes.
Diabetic person should follow strict diet plan.Wheat: Wheat’s glycemic index (GI) is 54 which make it good for diabetics.
Oatmeal: It offers a host of health benefits for diabetic persons.
Soymilk: It is a high-calcium, diary-free alternative. It’s high in vitamin B-12 and has 4 grams of carbs per cup.
Milk: Avoid milk that is high in saturated and trans fat. Its carbohydrate count can impact blood sugar, especially sugar in the form of lactose in milk.
Rice: White rice can cause spikes in blood sugar.
Fruits: Fruits with high sugar should be must avoided. Fruits in cans, jars, or plastic cups may contain added sugar. Fruits like aavla, jamoon, orange etc good which are less sweet and contain beneficial elements. Tomato is an excellent food for diabetics.
Raw turmeric: It is best for diabetic persons as it increases insulin sensitivity.
Maize: maize has been found to be effective in the management of diabetes, cancer, and hypertension.
Potatoes: Who ate a large amount of potatoes raised their risk of diabetes. It is high in starch, a source of glucose.
Black tea: It significantly reduces blood glucose levels among both healthy and pre-diabetic adults. Avoid milk and sugar in it.
Cofee: Cofee without sugar and milk is beneficial. Biscuit with high fiber are also best for diabetic persons.
